A Student of the Least of These

These two little ones,

who love without regret,

that speak words without fear,

these are friends of the sweetest kind.

They sometimes hurt each other's feelings,

and they sometimes cry because of how sad they have made each other.

But, they are so real.

So true to who they have been made to be.

As they speak of their

love for one another,

or some exciting news of the day,

or their accomplishments from the evening before,

or even of their love for God,

they teach me.

They bring a tear to my eye,

they come and hug me...or jump on me,

And I am blessed.

Blessed to be around the "least of these",

just as Jesus said I would be.

  1. oh i love how my little ones are like yours--they fight and squabble and refuse to share, but oh they share and love and hug and can't wait to be around the other... i love how they are in the moment and then just go about their business! i love that they are indeed the least, and we have so much to learn from them.

  6. That is one heart-melting pair of children. I learned some of life's greatest lessons from my little one, who is now 24. The simple days of childhood ... they are so fleeting. [sigh]

Thanks so much for linking up today. Hope to see more of you.

  12. What a lovely post and a lovely photo. Sounds like you are enjoying motherhood. I've loved every moment of being a momma...I only wish my upper teenage kids were still little like yours are. Oh, how I miss those days. (Times now are wonderful, but I DO miss the "wonder" years that goes with little ones.)
